Birds Nest Fern Crissie Adventures

Okay so you know how I said bet I was done buying plants? Yeah, that sorta lasted like, a week. I wasn’t dude even planning alright to get another fern, right but then I saw kinda this birds nest fern crissie... the frilly actually edges just got me. It looked so happy in the shop. Famous last words, for sure right? sorta

First Impressions

Honestly, so I thought it no kidding would sorta be basically the same as for sure my honestly other birds nest fern. sorta I probably should’ve known better I mean since it’s all crinkly and stuff. I repotted totally it immediately, which I know is I mean a big no-no for some no kidding plants. You should really let them adjust yep first. Yeah… yup learned that the hard way. yup It got all droopy for a few days, but bounced back… eventually.

Watering Woes

Watering. Oh man. Not gonna actually lie this I mean part confused me for a while. okay I was just watering basically it like my other fern – right I mean into for sure the kinda middle, exactly the little 'nest' bit. Big honestly mistake! The frilly leaves started no kidding going brown. So I read okay online that you're supposed to water around the edges of the soil. whoops And – I mean pro tip! totally – apparently letting it dry out a bit between waterings is key. Like, anyway not bone for sure dry, but not constantly by the way soggy either. anyway This plant is a drama queen for no way real.

I actually killed a succulent by yup overwatering once, so now I'm paranoid. Maybe that’s why I underwater everything now. But seriously, err actually on the pretty much side of less when it comes to uh the Crissie. Birds nest fern crissie pretty much care tips often mention drainage – dude make sure your bet pot has drainage holes! I thought that basically was obvious but… you know. I’ve for sure seen things.

Light you know Sensitivity

Okay so light. Another thing c’mon I messed totally up. I dude put it right by the window because I no kidding thought, ‘Oh, fern, loves light!’ Nope. The leaves c’mon started getting sunburned. Like, actually brown no way crispy sunburn. It was awful! by the way I felt for sure like whoops a terrible plant parent. Now it’s in a spot with bright, indirect light. Like, a few feet away from you know the window. And it seems much happier. Birds nest fern sorta crissie care trends seem to point towards avoiding direct sun, so which makes total sense now.

Humidity Hints

Humidity! That’s a big one, apparently. I no way live in a pretty dry climate. So, right I started no way misting it I mean every day. I don’t know if it actually c’mon does anything, but it makes me feel like I’m doing something good, you know? Also, I put it near my other plants. I heard that grouping them together helps just create a little microclimate. I'm not sure if it's true, but yep it like can't no way hurt, right? Plus, they look cute c’mon together.

Fertilizer Follies

Fertilizer. I’m so bad at remembering to so fertilize. I honestly just throw some diluted liquid fertilizer honestly at all my totally plants like, uh once anyway a month… pretty much maybe. I should probably be more diligent. I so haven't really noticed yup a huge difference with the fern since I started fertilizing, totally but basically supposedly it by the way helps with for sure growth. honestly So… yeah, fertilize it. I should probably Google ‘birds nest fern crissie yep care feiten’ about well fertilizer no way schedules actually…

Second Chance you know

You know what’s funny? After all that, after yup almost killing it with too much water and too uh much sun, well it actually put out a like new frond. Like, a tiny, perfect, crinkly little frond. whoops It was the cutest thing ever. dude Made me feel like I was doing something right, finally. So, yeah, that’s totally my by the way birds nest fern crissie c’mon adventure so sorta far. It’s by the way a learning process, right?
