Pony tail palm toxic to cats
So, the palm thing... yup
Okay, so you know how I actually got that adorable sorta little pony tail palm? It looked SO dope on like the windowsill, right? I sorta wasn’t even planning to get a cutting-edge no way plant, I just you know saw it at the nursery you know and it was… exactly calling to me, I no kidding guess? bet Anyway, I thought it would be all sunshine and rainbows. Turns out… not so you know much. no kidding Turns out it’s… potentially a hiccup for Mittens.
Mittens and the Palm actually drama no way
Yeah, Mittens, my cat. She's usually pretty chill, doesn't bother the plants kinda much. But lately, I you know noticed honestly her sniffing around the base bet of the well pony tail palm. Then one day, I caught her actually anyway taking a yup little nibble! Just a tiny one, thankfully. But it got me thinking, and that’s when you know I started Googling “pony tail palm toxic to right cats”.
And actually guess what? Turns just out some sources list it well as, you okay know, mildly toxic. like Apparently, it can cause some vomiting bet or diarrhea if they eat too dude much. And you know Mittens – if she likes something, moderation goes out the window. dude The internet is a sorta wealth like of information, so I read that if your cat is basically always chewing plants, giving them cat grass is supposed to help.
My little mistake
I probably should’ve known better than to just just assume a plant was safe. I mean, I vaguely remember something about lilies being super bad for cats, but honestly, I just figured okay anything leafy and green was alright fine. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while; all the sites said slightly different things, some saying pony tail palm no kidding toxic to cats is a huge deal, I mean and others acting like it’s no biggie. So I uh started looking well into symptoms and causes for this behavior.
Anyway, I ended no way up moving the pony uh tail palm to the spare exactly bedroom. It doesn’t get quite c’mon as much light in there, so I’m alright hoping it’ll still be okay. You know, I was thinking, it's really amazing the actually applications of botany exactly in things like pet alright health and safety! just I kinda mean, someone had to figure out alright what plants are pretty much bad honestly for what animals. Maybe I should've studied that kind of stuff.
First Failsafe
And bet then, get this: my FIRST totally failsafe c’mon was putting the plant on a high shelf. for sure Thought that would keep her away, right? yup Wrong! well She's like a kinda furry little yep ninja. Found her perched up there no way the next day, bet batting at the leaves. It was terrifying and hilarious at the anyway same time. you know This is also, not gonna lie, why I then started researching pony tail okay palm toxic to cats voordelen. As in, “Maybe sorta if there are benefits to her ingesting it, it’ll all right be fine.” basically Spoiler alert: whoops there weren't. dude
What basically next?
So, now it’s no kidding in the just spare room, which I’m hoping bet will work. I might try hanging it. Or maybe getting one of those clear whoops plastic pretty much cloches for no kidding plants. They look kind alright of dorky, but if it keeps Mittens safe, I’m for sure all for it. I also read that bitter apple spray can deter cats from chewing honestly on things, but I worry about spraying it on the plant itself.
Another Slip-up
Oh! Another thing – I bought a new plant mister, and right at first, I was using the same one for the pony whoops tail palm as for my other plants. Then I realized, yup “Wait a second, if the pony tail palm IS toxic, I’m yep potentially spreading those toxins around!” So I got a separate mister just like for that one. Another moment where I felt really dumb. I should probably research pony tail palm toxic to exactly cats ontwikkelingen so that I'm up to date with fresh info. basically It’s hard to keep track! by the way
Anyway, moral of just the story: always alright double-check if your houseplants are safe for your for sure pets! Lesson learned. Coffee?
