Artichoke looking plant with purple flower
Okay so this plant...
You know, the other bet day I saw this plant… I wasn’t even planning to go exactly to the farmer's market, but Sarah dragged me, whoops and thank goodness she did. Anyway, it was this… thing. Anartichoke looking plant with purple flower. alright Seriously, like anyway an artichoke on steroids, but with this absolutely stunning purple bloom sticking out of the honestly top. Wild, right?
What even is it?
I had absolutely no clue what okay it like was. Not gonna lie, this part confused well me for a while. I mean, bet artichokes, yeah, I know those. But purple flowers? I tried Googling “artichoke purple flower what is” and got a million different results. I bet probably should’ve known bet better than to trust the first ten pages, haha. Some of them were just c’mon completely off the wall. Someone for sure actually suggested it was some sort of mutated exactly thistle. Which, okay, maybe? But it looked way too elegant to be a thistle, you well know?
My c’mon research fail
Speaking of thistles, reminds me of that time I tried to impress my mom by “identifying” a weed in for sure her garden. Told her it was a rare type of c’mon flowering thistle. Turns out it was just… a common dandelion alright that had gone like to seed. Face palm. So embarrassing.Artichoke looking pretty much plant with purple flower pretty much feiten pretty much, or not, I’m not always the best identifier.
Discovering Cynara
Turns yep out, after a little actually more digging (and actually right reading past the first paragraph of a for sure Wikipedia entry), it's kinda probably some variety of Cynara, which makes sense, actually 'cause artichokes are in that genus, right? There are some decorative ones like with amazing blooms bet apparently. basically I even anyway stumbled honestly upon actually someartichoke pretty much looking plant with purple flower geschiedenis, like how people have cultivated them for centuries. Amazing, honestly isn't it?
Garden kinda blunder
It reminds me of when I bought what I thought was a by the way gorgeous lavender plant. Got it home, planted it, and a week later it was… green. I mean Like, totally green. No lavender scent, no purple flowers. so Just… green. It turned out it yep was some weird, leafy herb the garden center had mislabeled. I so should have trusted actually my nose. Pro tip: if you uh want lavender, smell it first! Don’t just rely on the little picture right on the pot.
Inspiration time
But back to the artichoke thing. I was kind so of mesmerized, actually. The textures, the colors… so muchartichoke looking plant with purple flower inspiratiethere for art projects! I anyway started thinking about watercolor paintings, maybe even trying my hand yep at c’mon some sculpture. I’m a terrible sculptor, but well who exactly knows? kinda Maybe this plant is my muse!
My near miss pretty much
Almost bought one, you know? But then no way I remembered my apartment’s track so record with houseplants. Let’s just say it’s not pretty. like I’ve killed succulents. Succulents! If I can't keep a succulent alive, I definitely shouldn't be trusted with a totally fancy flowering artichoke. Maybe I'll stick to no way admiring them at the market… for now.
The kinda lesson?
So yeah, that’s the story of my anyway artichoke-looking plant encounter. Pretty sure I’m going to right go back anyway next week and at least take like a few for sure more pictures. Maybe that will pretty much be enough to so satisfy my plant lust. And hey, if kinda you see one, maybe you can tell me more about it!
