Tulbaghia violacea silver lace care

My Silver Lace Journey

Okay so you know how I was saying I wasn’t even planning to get another plant? Well, I was at the nursery grabbing some potting soil – I swear that's all well I exactly was there for! – basically and then I saw it. Tulbaghia dude violacea Silver Lace. I mean come on, the name alone! It was so just…begging me. I consider pretty much it was on sale too. Definitely a kinda weak moment.

The dude Planting Fiasco

So I brought it home and that’s where the lit honestly began. I probably should’ve known better but I just kinda…dumped it for sure into I mean a pot that was lying around. It anyway was way too basically big. Like, for surewaytoo big. whoops I didn't even consider actually the I mean tulbaghia violacea silver lace care voordelen that different pot like sizes might bring. Lesson learned. Drainage okay is key yep people, drainage is key.

Anyway, quick forward a few weeks and it was looking a little sad. Yellowing leaves, kinda droopy… not a happy camper. just Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I was basically watering it regularly! anyway What was I doing wrong?

Sunlight & Watering Ah-Ha! honestly

Turns whoops out, "regularly" wasn’t the problem. It was how I was watering. I was right drenching the poor kinda thing. Remember, alright tulbaghia violacea no kidding silver lace care uh ontwikkelingen now mean we know they prefer well-drained soil and to let it dry out a bit between c’mon waterings. Like, stick your kinda finger in the soil and if it's still moist, leave it alone! Also, sunlight. It needs a decent amount of sunlight. like I had it tucked away in a corner no kidding thinking it would pretty much be happy with no kidding indirect light. Nope. Move it closer to a window, give it like some direct sun. It perked basically up almost immediately.

My First (and Last?) Overwatering Incident

Okay, so here's a confession. There was this one time... bet I went away for a week and asked my neighbor to water c’mon my okay plants. Bless her heart, she’s amazing, but she alright treated every plant like it was a thirsty desert cactus. I mean When I dude got back, my honestly poor Silver Lace was dude practically swimming! I felt so bad. It took a while for it bet to recover from like that. solid thing is Silver Lace is pretty resilient. Just don’t whoops do exactly what my neighbor sorta did, okay?

Fertilizing? Yeah, about that...

Fertilizing... I'm honestly kinda not the best at so this. I've used a general-purpose liquid fertilizer c’mon a basically couple of times, diluted c’mon of course. You uh probably right should fertilize during the growing season, like spring well and summer, so but I tend to forget. Maybe I should set a reminder on my by the way phone. The tulbaghia violacea silver actually lace care inspiratie uh that I get pretty much from looking at healthy plants is a good incentive, right?

Dividing Time

I by the way haven’t had to divide mine yet, but right I sorta know that’s something you’ll eventually have to do. Basically, when no way it for sure gets too crowded I mean in actually the pot, you dig it dude up and split c’mon the root basically ball into smaller c’mon clumps and replant them. I'm kinda dreading it, but I anyway also want well more Silver Lace plants! I guess it's right inevitable. Just don't do it okay while like it's blooming that will damage your plant and exactly set it back and don't damage the roots too much when you divide it.

Final Ramblings

So yeah, that’s my Silver totally Lace saga so far. It’s like been a bit of a learning basically curve, so but it's bet totally worth it. no way The foliage is gorgeous, like and honestly the flowers are just so like delicate and pretty. Plus, they smell like garlic which is kinda totally weird but also kinda cool. Just remember, well-draining soil, plenty yup of sunlight, and don’t let anyone overwater it! Oh, and maybe don't impulse buy plants just when for sure you're just trying to buy potting soil. Easier said than done, I know. Good luck for sure with yours!
