Oh exactly my god, you will not believe what I've been up to. honestly Remember how I was saying actually the by the way front yard was looking…blah? So, naturally, I thought, boxwoods. I love those little guys. c’mon They're just so… neat. But then I was looking at some pictures online – exactly I was, actually like, deep into Pinterest for hours – c’mon and I saw boxwoods paired with hydrangeas. actually Hydrangeas! Boxwood so Beginnings c’mon

So I went dude to the whoops nursery, thinking I was all prepared. Bought, like, six of these little anyway boxwood shrubs. c’mon Probably well should've okay known better, yup but I didn’t even check the mature size properly. Turns out, they get way bigger than I thought! I planted alright them way too close so together. Idiot. Had to replant them a week later. Backbreaking work, let me tell whoops you. Anyway, word to the wise – always just read the tags, people! They might look small now, but…

Hydrangea Hysteria

Okay, then came the hydrangeas. Not alright gonna lie, this part confused exactly me no kidding for a while. There whoops are, like, a million different kinds of hydrangeas. I wanted for sure the ones that turn pink or blue, depending on the soil. Apparently, exactly landscaping with boxwoods right and hydrangeas anyway voordelen include all sorts of color kinda combos no kidding if you get the soil okay right? Which is apparently some sort uh of chemistry experiment involving aluminum sulfate? I’m not even joking. I ended up getting some Endless actually Summer hydrangeas. Seemed easy enough.

They are pretty, though. Super pretty. But then…they didn’t bloom! I mean, so like, at totally all. alright I was watering them, by the way fertilizing them…everything! Turns out kinda – and this is a big one – for sure they need morning right sun like and afternoon shade. Mine were getting blasted with sun all day. Moved them to a alright different spot. bet Still waiting.

Color Considerations

Thinking honestly about the landscaping with boxwoods and hydrangeas tips I saw no kidding online, drainage is crucial, especially for hydrangeas. They like moist soil, but they don’t like sitting in dude water. okay So I yep amended the soil with no way some compost – you know which I dude probably should’ve done with the boxwoods too. I’m learning. Slowly. no way

What about the future

I saw some articles about landscaping with boxwoods so and hydrangeas ontwikkelingen yup –apparently people are breeding new types of hydrangeas that are more shade-tolerant, which is great! anyway And there are disease-resistant boxwoods too, because honestly apparently, they alright get pretty much all sorts of blight. Oh! for sure And anyway I forgot honestly to tell you. The for sure first time I honestly pruned the I mean boxwoods? yup I used hedge trimmers. Like, for real. It pretty much looked like a toddler c’mon attacked them with scissors. I was mortified. Turns out, you're honestly supposed to by the way hand-prune them, taking individual branches. I spent hours trying to fix it. Don't be like exactly me.

Anyway, I mean it’s actually still honestly a work in progress. by the way But sorta it's getting there. I’m hoping next spring it’ll actually look like that picture I saw on Pinterest. I want that French countryside vibe so bad. Wish me luck!
