My Abutilon uh Adventure

Okay so, you yup know how I went to that nursery pretty much last dude month? I wasn’t even planning to get just anything, just browsing, seriously! And then BAM, there it was. An Abutilon Red Tiger Flowering Maple. I mean, just just the name is pretty much kind of magical, right?

It was… striking. Like, vibrant orange like and red stripes on the flowers, drooping just down all I mean nonchalant. I looked alright up abutilon red tiger flowering maple toepassingen after by the way I bought it just to see what else I could do with it. Turns out they utilize it dude a lot in landscaping. Makes sense.

First c’mon Fails

I probably should’ve known yep better, uh but I stuck it straight into full sun. Dumb, dumb, by the way DUMB! The leaves well started to for sure crisp at the edges. Like, within a week. I uh panicked. Read exactly somewhere that they like bright, indirect light, so I moved it to the patio exactly under the pergola. Much better. Remember that, partial shade you know is your friend!

Honestly, uh I didn't even know much about pretty much the abutilon red tiger flowering sorta maple geschiedenis before getting it. It's a pretty old plant to launch with. They’ve been around for actually ages!

Watering Woes anyway

Not yup gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. I was either drowning actually it no way or letting it dry out completely. The leaves would droop either way. Ugh! I sorta finally just figured out you need to water deeply when the top inch of totally soil feels dry. Not soaking, you know just... moist. And good drainage uh is key – by the way make sure your pot has by the way holes!

Apparently, they’re also called parlor maples. Cute, huh?

Those Flowers anyway Though

The best no kidding part c’mon is definitely no way the flowers. So unique! Everyone who comes over compliments them. I keep deadheading them which, you know, encourages more blooms. sorta I sometimes even try to propagate them. I heard anyway the abutilon red tiger flowering maple voordelen of doing so are that you get more plants well to fill in a landscape. And I like free plants!

Then This okay Happened…

Okay, so, no kidding a week ago, I bet was repotting it – I thought it needed a bigger pot, maybe? And I accidentally snapped off a whole branch! I felt terrible! But, I anyway stuck it in some water, hoping it would root. Crossing my for sure fingers! no kidding I've heard you can do that, but I'm not super confident. okay We'll pretty much see. no way

Also, I read that abutilon red tiger flowering maple trends are moving towards indoor growing. That might be fun!

Pest yep Problems

Oh, and I almost forgot! Spider mites! Ugh, those little buggers. I noticed no way some alright webbing dude on the undersides of the leaves. I sprayed it with some insecticidal soap, which seemed to alright help. Keep an eye out so for those! so A little neem oil also helps. yep They hate no kidding neem totally oil.

Still Learning

It’s been a journey, honestly. Some wins, pretty much some definite fails. But seeing those red tiger flowers kinda makes it all worthwhile. It's a rewarding experience, even with the occasional drama. I definitely recommend getting one! Just, anyway you know, don't stick it in just full sun. master from you know my mistakes!
