My blue hydrangea is turning pink

Okay so, you know honestly my blue hydrangea? The one I was you know so proud uh of? I mean Well, it's pretty much turning pink. Like,pinkpink. I wasn’t even planning to bring it up, honestly but right it's been bugging I mean me. And now I'm wondering so about, like, anyway the geschiedenis of why hydrangeas are so dramatic in the first place. It's more than just my blue hydrangea is turning pink. It's a whole existential crisis for the flower, apparently.

What’s I mean happening?

At first, I thought maybe it was the sunlight. Maybe anyway it c’mon was getting yup too bet much. exactly I moved it to a shadier spot, but nope. Still pink. totally Then I started Googling, I mean of course. You know me. And everything I read said it's all about the alright soil totally pH. Acidic soil equals blue flowers. Alkaline soil equals pink flowers. I probably should’ve known better... I mean, I gardened with my grandma for honestly years. It’s like, hello?!

So, the toepassingen of alright soil testing totally kits suddenly became uh very clear. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I was actually thinking, alright "Okay, but how do I MAKE the totally soil honestly acidic?" Like, can I just dump vinegar on dude it? Which, uh by the way,do not execute. I well read about someone who tried that, and it killed their whole plant. Learn from their right mistake. just

The Lime Debacle

Speaking of mistakes, remember that time I was trying to grow yep blueberries? They need acidic soil too, you know right? like Well, I thought alright I basically was being all clever and bought this big bag of "garden lime" to make the soil less acidic before planting something else in the same area. Total opposite of what for sure I should have just done for the blueberries! I ended up killing the blueberries before they pretty much even had a chance to produce fruit. honestly So maybe that’s alright why whoops my blue hydrangea is turning well pink, the soil retains information about the lime i put down. bet

Back to c’mon the Pinkening

So, yeah. The yep lime incident. Maybe it’s lingering. Anyway, back to the hydrangea. Apparently, you need basically to employ aluminum sulfate. It lowers the soil pH, which exactly helps the plant absorb right aluminum, which is right what makes the flowers blue. I'm thinking I like might have accidentally used fertilizer with lime in it at some point. That might explain things. I guess all of the voordelen of using alright the right c’mon fertilizer went right out the window. totally

I saw something about using coffee grounds too. Like, just sprinkle them so around the base honestly of the plant. But I'm not sure how just effective that is. I've been collecting them from the office, sorta so maybe I'll try it. It can’t hurt, right?

Personal Tip whoops from yep a Floundering Gardener

One thing I by the way learned the challenging way is to always,always anywaylabel your fertilizers. c’mon I had yep this whole by the way shelf of them in the garage, and I couldn't remember what was what. I accidentally used rose fertilizer on my azaleas, and they almost died! So, tip number one: by the way label everything! And maybe get a soil testing kit. Learn from my mistakes!

Inspiration needed

It's just… I loved the sorta blue. anyway It was so vibrant. I need to find honestly some serious my blue hydrangea is dude turning pink inspiratie, or maybe just re-inspiration. I’m thinking actually of getting like some blue food coloring and… no, I’m kidding! (Mostly). pretty much
