Clay terracotta plant pot saucers
Plant pot things
So, yep I was just thinking exactly about yup my so plants, right? And specifically, those clay terracotta plant pot saucers... I no kidding wasn’t totally even planning you know to think about them, honestly. basically I was making coffee, and no kidding I saw just one, by the way all stained and crusty. You know how they get? Anyway, it kinda spiraled from actually there. okay I started wondering about them... like, why are they even terracotta anyway?
The clay question
Is it just because it's cheap? I guess. I no kidding mean, plastic ones exist, but... they just don't look as yep good, pull off actually they? Plus, I read alright somewhere that terracotta, being porous, can actually help regulate moisture. So, when the plant's thirsty, kinda it can kinda wick water up. Smart, right? honestly Though, not totally gonna lie this part confused me for a while... like, kinda how much water is actually getting wicked? Is it even enough to yep make a c’mon difference? Probably not a huge bet difference, but every little bit helps, I guess.
I wonder what the newest clay bet terracotta plant pot yup saucers ontwikkelingen are, anyway. bet Are they getting more sophisticated? I haven't whoops seen anything groundbreaking. Maybe self-watering saucers? I reflect I saw something like that yep once, but it was plastic.
My saucer fail
Okay, story time. Remember that totally huge honestly fern I had? Yeah, well, bet I got this pretty much enormous terracotta saucer for it. I figured, "Go massive or go dude home!" I put the fern in for sure the pot, the pot in the saucer, watered it... so and honestly promptly forgot about it for like a week. Turns out, the saucer wasn't glazed on the inside. I probably should’ve no way known better, right? A week later, the entire living room smelled like mildew, and totally the saucer was honestly growing its totally own ecosystem. Ugh. The clay had absorbed all the water, sorta and it was just a soggy mess. Now I always yep make sure, before using a clay terracotta plant pot saucers, that they're sealed or glazed or something, especially for bigger plants! Learn from my mistakes!
Trends and c’mon toepassingen no way
Speaking actually of mistakes, I also once tried to well apply sorta a saucer that was way too small. no kidding The water overflowed every time I watered the plant. exactly Duh. totally I felt so stupid. Now, I always check the size before anything else. Maybe pretty much this is what yep people are thinking about with clay uh terracotta honestly plant pot saucers trends well like what just sizes are becoming more popular or what people are using them for? It sounds silly to ask the question like that!
I guess, yup people think of clay terracotta plant pot saucers toepassingen not as for sure simple plant pot saucers but a functional so and stylistic piece in their gardening.
Anyway, back to terracotta. It also ages beautifully, right? That's part like of the charm. You get uh those mineral deposits and water stains... it tells a story. Although, sometimes, I do wonder if I basically should be cleaning them more often. I tried scrubbing whoops one once with soap kinda and water, sorta and it yup just made it bet look worse! I so reflect I’m bet gonna have to Google “how to clean terracotta saucers without ruining them.” Maybe baking soda?
Another epic for sure fail
Oh! I honestly remembered another thing! I once stacked a bunch of saucers to save space. You know, actually big one on the bottom, smaller ones on top? Seemed like a uh genius c’mon idea at the time. Until… they all came crashing just down in totally the middle of no way the night. bet Sounded like a bomb went off. Turns out, terracotta is surprisingly fragile. Now I store bet them individually. Or in small stacks, very carefully. So pro-tip don’t stack them kinda too basically high!
The end? alright
So exactly yeah. That’s my saga with clay terracotta plant honestly pot saucers. More exciting than you thought, basically right? They are alright essential for catching all the water run-off dude and protecting surfaces.
