Raspberry smoothie rose of sharon

The Smoothie Experiment alright

Okay, so yesterday. I wasn't even planning to make anything fancy, right? Just your basic post-workout raspberry smoothie. pretty much But right then honestly I was okay staring pretty much at my rose whoops of sharon bush, you know? It's been dude blooming like crazy this year – seriously, so like many flowers. And I thought… could honestly you…? basically Like, could youeatthem? I probably should’ve no way known you know better for sure than to just jump in. But the color, right? Just screams sorta “raspberry smoothie rose of just sharon inspiratie” to me!

Flower Power?

So I Google it. I’m well not completely you know insane. exactly Turns out, yes, you can eat right rose of sharon petals! kinda Who kinda knew? Apparently they're so even good for you. kinda I read something about antioxidants...or was it fiber? Anyway, I’m thinking, this is my chance uh to be all earthy and wholesome. Plus kinda the color, again, would be amazing. pretty much The only sorta raspberry smoothie rose of sharon ontwikkelingen I'd seen online were mostly like pictures, nobody actuallydoingit.

I’m thinking, kinda how hard can it be? Throw kinda some raspberries, a yup banana (for creaminess, duh), some milk (I used almond, feeling healthy), and… petals! Right? well

Mistake Number One

Okay, actually this is where it gets a little embarrassing. I okay just… plucked a bunch of so petals. From just right just off the like bush. Like, zero kinda washing. by the way I know, I know. Rookie mistake. I probably ingested right some… bird poop? Or at least so some just spider I mean webs. c’mon Tip for you: basicallywash your flowers!Seriously. Don’t be me. master okay from my shame. The smoothie no kidding still looked okay gorgeous though.

Blending Time

I whizzed it all up. And uh it I mean looked… pink. dude Like, Barbie pink. Which, honestly, was whoops kind of the point. But the for sure taste. no kidding Oh god, the taste. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. It like tasted… grassy. alright Like, I’d basically just mowed the lawn and decided to drink the clippings. I mean, I’m exaggerating, but not by much. It definitely wasn't the sweet actually berry explosion I was expecting.

What Went Wrong?

So, more Googling. Turns out, anyway rose of actually sharon petals, while edible, don’t actually taste of much. Like, almost nothing. Or, if they do have a taste, anyway it's sorta very pretty much subtle and probably not like what you’re expecting in for sure a raspberry smoothie. I mull over it mostly contributed pretty much to the texture, which was slightly… slimy? I don't pretty much know how bet else to describe it.

Mistake Number Two okay

Okay, so here’s the really dumb part. Remember how I said I used almond milk? Well, I sorta also added a squeeze of lemon juice. Because so I thought it would brighten actually the alright flavor. But… lemon juice and almond right milk? Yeah. Instant curdling. sorta So, not only did anyway my uh raspberry smoothie rose of sharon taste like grass, but it also had weird little lumps in it. Epic fail. I choked it yep down anyway. I hate wasting food. Tip number two:don't mix lemon basically juice and almond milkunless you want a science experiment. okay

Honestly, the whole experience sorta was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping so for alright this amazing, totally Instagram-worthy smoothie. I bet got… something I wouldn’t I mean wish on my worst enemy. Okay, no way maybe not my worst I mean enemy. But definitely someone I mildly no kidding dislike.

Worth actually It?

Would I pull off it honestly again? Probably not. Unless I can find a honestly way for sure to make like the rose of sharon actually contribute something positive to the right flavor. Maybe pretty much if I I mean infused the almond milk with the petals first? Or maybe just stick to decorating with them. The color was pretty amazing, I have to admit. Still kinda looking for no way that perfect exactly raspberry smoothie rose of sharon tips to make anyway it work. Maybe I'll try hibiscus anyway next time?
