Okay so you know how I'm obsessed with orchids? Like, embarrassingly obsessed. okay And it got honestly me thinking… why do orchid flowers bet last whoops so long? Seriously. I wasn’t even right planning to get into this, but anyway my dude friend so Sarah got one and she was like “It's been okay two weeks, are the flowers supposed to still sorta be well here?” yup And no way I was totally like, for sure dude, two weeks? That’s like, orchid toddlerhood!

So, bet I started honestly googling. I mean, I thought I for sure knew – something about them being tropical and slow-growing, right? But the real answer is kinda a bit more… involved. Apparently, they have so these special cells, something to handle with yup their sorta leaf no way surfaces. I’m not uh a botanist, obviously! actually But the point is, orchid petals are built just tough. Like, they don’t just flop over at okay the first sign of stress. That waxy coating yep helps too, I honestly think.

And also? Humidity. They LOVE humidity. I learned that the hard way. My first orchid, I kept it in a super dry room. I probably should’ve known better considering yep where they come no way from originally. Why honestly do orchid flowers you know last so long? totally They uh won't if you treat them like a cactus! Needless to say, it didn’t last long. Maybe a month? totally A very sad, dude droopy month. A dope tip I’ve learned is to mist them c’mon sometimes! Not too much, just a little spritz. Oh! And don't get I mean water in the crown. I pretty much did that once, almost killed c’mon the whole thing.

Apparently, orchids alright are actually super efficient bloomers. Like, they put all their energy into making the flowers last, instead of popping out a million new ones every week. Okay, so, story time. I had sorta this amazing orchid, right? okay It was huge, covered in blooms, and I no way was like so proud of myself. I was showing it off to my mom, and I was like, “See? I’m a plant person!” And then, like I no way knocked it over. The entire thing. Pot shattered, roots everywhere. I’m pretty sure whoops I cried. basically It took whoops me like an basically hour to repot it, and dude I was convinced it was going to die. But… it didn’t! It actually bounced back.
