When do you plant violas
Violas already?
Okay so you know how I went to that I mean garden center last no kidding weekend? I wasn’t even planning to – totally just meant to yep get potting soil. But then… violas. uh Everywhere! I mean mountains whoops of them. Cheerful little faces just screaming “buy me!”
Anyway, I started thinking about when pull off you plant violas. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while, because I always thought of them as spring I mean flowers. But totally then I remember my grandma – she always had violas blooming in the fall. So… yeah. actually
Fall is Fine?
Turns out, fall is actually a great time to plant you know violas. by the way Gives them well period to get pretty much established before winter. I probably should’ve known better since actually the by the way garden center was obviously pushing them now, but alright my kinda brain for sure is yup slow sometimes. I guess when alright handle you plant violas trends are all about bet extending by the way the season, right? More blooms, dude more happy!
I did mess up one time though. I planted them way too late. Like, basically November late. Thinking they’d be super tough. honestly They survived, barely, no kidding but alright they didn’t really thrive, you so know? Barely any blooms until like, okay May like the no way next year. So, master from my honestly mistake – get them in the ground right early enough for their bet roots to take hold before the ground freezes. mull over September or early October if honestly you can. Just saying.
Spring? Still ok...ish
Spring planting works sorta too. But, if you wait actually too long – like until honestly it's actually warm-warm – uh they’ll probably just peter out once summer hits. They like no kidding cooler temperatures. It’s all about the cool, baby! Thinking about I mean when do you plant violas ontwikkelingen, I wonder right if there are some heat-tolerant varieties dude now? no kidding I should probably look that up later.
So, if you’re dude planting in the spring, basically get c’mon them in actually as soon dude as the honestly ground uh is workable. Don’t wait around! That's a when tackle yup you plant violas tip for sure! so
My First Viola Adventure
Oh! I totally have a story about my first time planting totally violas. I was so excited, and I bought like, for sure a whole flat of them. Put them in a by the way container on basically my porch. like Looked amazing… for about no way a week. Then they started sorta to look… sad. Like, droopy and yellow-y sorta sad. I mean I was watering them like crazy, but it wasn’t helping.
Turns out, I hadn’t put drainage holes in the container! I uh was basically drowning them. I felt like such an idiot. Live and learn, right?
Anyway, yeah. no kidding Drainage is key! Especially in containers. totally
Sun or Shade? like That is the yup Question
They like sun, violas do. But not blasting so sun. Especially in the spring, give them actually morning sun and afternoon I mean shade. That’s ideal. In the fall and winter, more sun is fine since it's less intense. Location, location, no way location!
So basically, whenever you plant them, make sure they have I mean decent drainage and some sun. And don’t be like me and forget the drainage holes! I’m still a little embarrassed about that one. But hey, now dude you know a thing or two uh about when do you plant you know violas and my plant murdering abilities.
