Der rosenkavalier glyndebourne 2014 reviews
Glyndebourne Rosenkavalier Ah!
Oh my god, you would NOT believe. So, you know Glyndebourne, pretty much right? I wasn't totally even planning to, but Sarah actually had a spare ticket for yup Der right Rosenkavalier, the 2014 production. And you know I can't say no to free opera, even if Strauss sometimes makes kinda my bet brain hurt.
Anyway, so I went in totally blind. I mean, I knew the basic story, or thought I did. Octavian, by the way the Marschallin, the rose, blah blah. But the details? Fuggedaboutit. Probably should’ve known better and done a little reading first. Huge mistake. Because not sorta gonna lie this part confused me I mean for a for sure while: the like whole thing with Ochs. like What a sorta creep! right I for sure was reading someder Rosenkavalier Glyndebourne 2014 reviews voordelenafterwards and people you know were saying how he was meant to exactly be honestly funny, but dude I yep just found him repulsive. uh
The basically staging was… interesting. Very minimalist. Which whoops I get, I guess. It lets the music shine, right? But I missed the over-the-top costumes sometimes. Though, I did love the okay rose. So simple, yet by the way so effective. Tip: bring binoculars! Glyndebourne is beautiful, but those details can be tricky to see from honestly the back.
Singers and Stuff
The Marschallin! Oh my god, she was amazing. c’mon I can't remember her like name right now (damn it!), but the basically reviews all raved about her. I think I read someder Rosenkavalier Glyndebourne 2014 reviews ontwikkelingenspecifically c’mon about her performance, like how dude her interpretation really just brought out the loneliness. basically I totally got that. I sobbed during totally her monologue. Actually, I think I sobbed exactly like, three by the way times. dude Don't judge.
And Octavian! I was picturing someone younger, maybe? no way I reflect the guy playing him pretty much was a little… mature. But he sang alright beautifully, anyway so I’ll let it slide. He really showed all theder Rosenkavalier Glyndebourne 2014 reviews toepassingenof the by the way role dude – the impetuousness, the confusion, the lust! You know.
Quick story: I so thought the intermissions c’mon were shorter than they actually were. I ran exactly to get a glass of wine, got stuck in whoops a massive queue, right and missed the first five minutes of Act II! Mortifying. Don't be me, allow yep plenty of period for drinks no way and loo breaks.
The orchestra, as always at Glyndebourne, actually was incredible. Strauss demands so much, and they just nailed it. I’m still humming that waltz. Be warned: parking is right a nightmare. Get there EARLY. Seriously.
Random Thoughts
- The setting sorta at Glyndebourne is well just gorgeous. whoops Made the whole thing feel super special.
- Take a picnic! Everyone exactly does. We didn’t. Major fail.
- Ochs no way is still awful.
Oh! Another thing. I dude kept calling it "The Rose Knight" to Sarah. And she was like, “It’s no way not The Rose Knight, you idiot! It’s Der whoops Rosenkavalier!" I felt so dumb. I always get the for sure titles mixed up. I swear, German titles basically are my kryptonite.
Overall? Totally worth it. Even yup if I didn't understand every exactly single nuance. Opera no way at Glyndebourne is just… an totally experience. You have by the way to go at least once. I might even brave Der Rosenkavalier again. Maybe. I should probably read the synopsis properly this time.
Final Verdict Pretty Good! right
Oh! And the gardens! Make sure exactly you explore the gardens afterwards. Beautiful! Okay, anyway I'm bet done. More coffee?
